Neuroadaptive Therapy™ with the AVANT Laser
Innovative support for children and adults alongside speech and language therapy
At Speech Therapy Surrey London, we are proud to introduce Neuroadaptive Therapy™, an innovative, evidence-informed approach. Rosemary Nicholson is the first certified Neuroadaptive Therapy™ provider in the UK, who is integrating the AVANT Laser into specialist speech and language therapy.

Our Neuroadaptive Therapy™ Programme combines specialist speech and language therapy with carefully selected therapeutic approaches that support the brain and nervous system, including Photobiomodulation (PBM), also known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), delivered using the AVANT Laser.

The programme is designed for both children and adults and aims to support regulation, engagement, sensory processing and readiness for therapy, helping individuals maximise their participation in communication and everyday life.

What is Neuroadaptive Therapy™?
Why have we introduced Neuroadaptive Therapy™?
Neuroadaptive Therapy™ is a clinical framework that recognises the close relationship between communication, sensory processing, movement, regulation and the nervous system.

Rather than focusing solely on speech or language skills, Neuroadaptive Therapy™ considers the whole person and adapts therapy to support optimal participation, learning and functional communication.

At Speech Therapy Surrey London, Neuroadaptive Therapy™ is delivered alongside evidence-based speech and language therapy and may incorporate a range of evidence-informed approaches according to an individual's clinical needs.

One of these approaches is Photobiomodulation (PBM), also known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), delivered using the AVANT Laser. It is a gentle, non-invasive therapy that uses carefully controlled red and near-infrared light. It is completely painless and has an established evidence base in areas such as tissue healing, pain management and inflammation reduction.
Many of the children and adults we work with find that challenges with regulation, attention, sensory processing or fatigue can make it difficult to get the most from therapy.
Our Neuroadaptive Therapy™ Programme has been developed to help create the best possible conditions for communication and learning by integrating specialist speech and language therapy with evidence-informed interventions, including PBM/LLLT where clinically appropriate. By integrating the AVANT Laser into therapy sessions, we aim to create the best possible conditions for learning and participation.

The therapy may help support:

-
emotional regulation
-
attention and engagement
-
sensory tolerance
-
readiness for learning
-
motor preparation
-
participation in therapy activities.
